I. Establishing a governance framework to promote sustainable development, setting up a dedicated unit for promoting sustainable development, and authorizing senior management by the board of directors, with supervision by the board of directors.

II. Conduct risk assessments related to environmental, social, and corporate governance issues associated with company operations based on significant principles and formulate relevant risk management policies or strategies.

This disclosure covers the company’s sustainable development performance at its major locations from January to December 2024. The risk assessment boundary is mainly based on the Company, including existing bases in Taiwan, Mainland China and Vietnam, and based on the relevance to the core business and the degree of impact on major topics, the subsidiaries Suzhou Jiantong Company, Dongguan Jiantong Company and Vietnam Jiantong Company are included in the scope.

Based on the principle of materiality, the Company conducts risk assessments on environmental, social or corporate governance and sustainable development-related issues related to the Company's operations in light of the significant impacts of such issues on investors and stakeholders.

1. Environment: Emphasize environmental protection, reduce the impact on the environment, set goals and plans, and ensure that the goals are achieved.

A. Implement wastewater treatment, air pollution prevention and control and various local government environmental protection regulations and regulations to effectively meet emission standards in the long term and contribute to the earth's environment.
B. In 2023, the company appointed the Industrial Technology Research Institute's Industrial Service Center guidance team to conduct greenhouse gas inventory every year according to ISO/CNS14060 standards. Internal verification has been completed in Taiwan, Suzhou, Dongguan, and Vietnam. A greenhouse gas management procedure has been established, and a contract has been signed with the verification unit TUV SUD. It is expected that the external verification will be completed and the certification will be obtained in April 2025.

     C. Annual internal audit plan is planned to check the compliance of the company with relevant environmental laws and regulations, and to check whether each operation flow complies with the regulations.

2. Society: We focus on occupational safety and product safety. We hold safety training, first aid training and fire drills from time to time every year to cultivate employees' emergency response capabilities. Our products also comply with the RoHS hazardous substance restriction standards. Our website also provides smooth communication channels for all stakeholders, and has dedicated personnel to handle complaints in order to maintain high-quality service satisfaction for consumers and customers.

3. Corporate governance: Implement internal controls to ensure that all employee operations comply with relevant laws and regulations. We plan relevant continuing education topics for directors, provide them with the latest regulations every year, and purchase liability insurance for directors and managers to protect them from lawsuits or claims to strengthen the functions of directors. In order to avoid misunderstandings caused by different positions between stakeholders and the Company, which may lead to operational or litigation risks, the Company has established various communication channels with stakeholders to reduce confrontation and misunderstandings, and has set up an investor mailbox, which is handled and responded to by a spokesperson.

The company has also established group risk management standards, which cover market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, operational risk, and legal risk, for reference and implementation by heads of various departments to achieve the company's business philosophy of sustainable development.

III. Environmental Issues

(1) Establish an appropriate environmental management system based on the characteristics of the industry.

Our company obtained ISO 14001 environmental management system certification in April 2023. Based on the kinetic cycle of "Plan, Implementation, Check and Action", we have adopted the positive ideas of "pollution prevention" and "continuous improvement" to achieve the goal of "sustainable development" of the enterprise. Based on the management systems of IATF 16949, ISO14001 and QC080000, the Suzhou plant has implemented a two-level standardized safety management system to carry out major environmental considerations, hazardous substance control and occupational safety and health risk control. It also uses proposed improvement targets and project improvement management to make priority improvements, while lower risks are controlled using operational process management.
In general, the goal of ISO 14001 is to help organizations achieve economic benefits while protecting the environment and achieving sustainable development. It emphasizes the commitment of management and the overall participation of the organization to achieve sustainable environmental management and enhance the environmental responsibility of the enterprise. The latest ISO 14001 certificate obtained by our company is valid from 2024/04/08 to 2027/04/07.
In response to the increasingly important environmental issues, our company has followed the EU ROHS directive and the world's environmental protection trends, and has taken the lead in obtaining VDE and BSI safety certifications, and has fully developed environmentally friendly micro-lead-free copper products for plugs in various countries to continuously supply the market. Because our company fully adopts the regular material C2800 optimized environmentally friendly micro-lead-free copper (GEM19-589) as the material for terminal connectors, and produces this copper material by smelting copper in its own factory in Vietnam, we have become the only international manufacturer of terminal connectors that smelt copper by itself, and have the ability to manufacture EU environmentally friendly materials and turn products. A first-class manufacturer. On June 9, 2021, Jiantong was invited to participate in the RoHS Exemption Stakeholders Online Meeting with the "Successful Case of Replacing Electrical Contact Components" to discuss and share successful experiences. The European Union Consultants Association evaluated that our company's case is an alternative product Door Opener, and its feasibility is obvious. However, because the product affects too many areas and is difficult to apply to all processes, the EU ultimately decided to extend the exemption until July 21, 2026. However, the EU still mentioned in the final report: Participants generally agreed that Jiantong was a successful conversion case.

(ii) We strive to improve the efficiency of resource utilization and use recycled materials with low impact on the environment.

Currently, the production order fulfillment rate of each unit in the factory is 98.7%, and the application of large-capacity equipment can increase the production order fulfillment rate to more than 99%. The copper plate materials used are from qualified suppliers and all meet the RoHS hazardous substance restriction standards. After each batch of raw materials is delivered, the heavy metal content is tested by ICP and GC/MS bromide detectors. Only when they meet the standards can they be put into production.

In 2023, the company installed new solar energy and energy storage related equipment, and in 2024, it purchased a dust collection equipment system to promote the ESG concept and the sustainable development concept of reducing the impact of green energy on the environment.

Recently, Vietnam Jiantong has added the recycling economy of copper scraps to diversify its copper raw material acquisition and gain more cost advantages. Under this basic condition, the quality and supply of our company's products are worthy of recognition and trust, and we can also fulfill our responsibility to protect the environment for the earth.

(III) Assess the potential risks and opportunities that climate change may pose to the enterprise now and in the future, and take measures to address climate-related issues.
    Reduce the use of electroplated electric heating tubes and use centralized heating in stainless steel insulated water tanks instead. Coil circulation heating is a safe, energy-saving heating method that reduces carbon and greenhouse gas emissions.

Starting from the third quarter of 2022, the Company shall submit the progress of the greenhouse gas inventory schedule to the Board of Directors for control every quarter, and implement the environmental impact assessment and response measures due to climate change.

(iv) Count greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption and total weight of waste in the past two years, and formulate policies for energy conservation and carbon reduction, greenhouse gas reduction, water reduction or other waste management.

The company regularly conducts statistical control on water consumption and waste, and appropriately posts slogans such as reducing water consumption at water facilities, strengthens waste classification, and reduces garbage to contribute to the protection of the earth's environment. IV. Social Issues (1) Formulate relevant management policies and procedures in accordance with relevant laws and regulations and international human rights conventions.

Our production environment is mostly equipped with air-conditioning equipment. The plastic molding workshop is equipped with a central feeding system, dedicated closed pipeline feeding, and central space dust collection to eliminate dust problems in the workshop to maintain a good working environment for employees. At present, European and American countries have strict requirements for green environmental protection. Our company has always promoted green production. Since the material structure of our products is copper and plastic, in order to ensure that the product quality can meet the requirements of the RoHS environmental directive, we have also purchased ICP-OES heavy metal detectors, GC/MS bromide detectors, and UV/VIS hexavalent chromium detectors to conduct quality inspections of incoming materials and products to implement the implementation of the RoHS environmental directive. Our company has taken the lead in developing environmentally friendly low-lead copper alloy processing technology and has obtained partial results of VDE and BSI product certification in June 2018. The EU ROHS directive determined in February 2019 that the lead content in copper alloys is less than 4% (40,000 ppm). The current exemption clause expires on July 21, 2026. Our company will be able to fulfill its corporate social responsibility for environmental protection.

In addition, our website also provides smooth communication channels for all stakeholders, and a dedicated person is responsible for handling complaints to maintain high-quality service satisfaction for consumers and customers.

(VI) Establish supplier management policies, requiring suppliers to comply with relevant regulations and implementation status on issues such as environmental protection, occupational safety and health, or labor human rights.

Our company values ​​sustainable cooperation with suppliers, so we have established a "Raw Material Supplier Management Procedure Book" to require suppliers to comply with relevant regulations on issues such as environmental protection and occupational safety. We evaluate the supplier's management quality ISO9001, IATF16949) and environmental system (such as ISO14001, QC080000) certification, and "Environmental Quality Assurance System Inspection and Audit" to confirm that the raw materials delivered by the supplier meet the RoHS hazardous and toxic substances restriction standards. Only after passing the review can they be registered as qualified suppliers.

Our company's comprehensive supply chain management mechanism, through the supplier selection process, evaluation and audit management, grading evaluation guidance and other specific implementation requirements, aims to establish a sustainable growth environment with suppliers.

V. In accordance with internationally recognized reporting standards or guidelines, the company prepares non-financial information disclosure reports such as Corporate Social Responsibility reports. As of now, the company has not yet compiled a Corporate Social Responsibility report or a similar report disclosing non-financial information.

The company has established the “Corporate Social Responsibility Best Practice Principles” and formed a dedicated unit, the Corporate Social Responsibility Operations Team, which is composed of department heads. This team is responsible for promoting corporate governance, formulating energy-saving and carbon reduction measures, reducing environmental pollution, complying with labor regulations, and safeguarding employee rights.

Each department fulfills its responsibilities, and the company regularly reviews the effectiveness of the implementation. The company routinely evaluates its compliance with these principles, and makes improvements accordingly, and to date, there have been no deviations from the established guidelines.

The company has established energy-saving management measures, instilled the habit of turning off lights during lunch breaks, designated Thursdays as recycling days in response to recycling policies, and has posted temperature labels on all air conditioners, with the temperature set above 28℃.
  • 2. The use of boilers has been discontinued, and electric heating is adopted to achieve energy-saving and carbon reduction goals.

(3) Regarding human rights protection and safety-related matters:

  • 1. Stamping press operators are required to wear earplugs, with 100% compliance with operating rules.
  • 2. Planning and implementation of soundproofing projects for stamping press machinery.
  • 3. In the process of handling copper raw materials, safety considerations are enforced for stamping press department personnel, and the mandatory wearing of safety shoes is implemented.
  • 4. In the plastic injection molding station, a central feeding system is adopted to eliminate dust issues.
  • 5. Comprehensive occupational safety training is provided, including training for firefighting, first aid personnel, and emergency response.

(4)、Regarding the protection of consumer rights:

Currently, various countries such as Europe and the United States strictly demand green environmental protection. Our company has always promoted green production. Given that the material structure of our products consists of copper and plastic, to ensure that product quality meets the requirements of the RoHS environmental directive, Vietnam Gem Electronic and Metal Co., Ltd. actively develops environmentally optimized lead-free copper. Internally, we have also acquired ICP-OES heavy metal detectors, GC/MS bromide detectors, and UV/VIS hexavalent chromium detectors for quality testing of incoming materials and products, fully implementing the RoHS environmental directive.
